About Signature Whistle

Who we are

Signature Whistle is a small art studio and webshop based in the Netherlands.
We combine hand-painted animal art with gentle, practical products that make everyday life a little kinder: for people, pets and the animals we share our world with.

Behind Signature Whistle is Lisa: painter, animal lover and creative counselor. Every product starts with a real encounter with an animal, a place or a quiet moment, and grows from there.

What we make

Signature Whistle has two main lines:

• Hand-painted animal greeting cards
  Each card starts as an original painting. The designs are printed on quality card stock in Europe, with a calm, tactile feel. Meant to be kept, not just glanced at.

• Lumabell™ visible cat collar covers
  Lumabell is a soft, colourful cover that slides over a breakaway cat collar. The bright colours help birds see cats earlier, while the light, breathable fabric keeps things comfortable for the cat.

Why animals are at the heart of everything

Animals run through Signature Whistle like a quiet red thread.
They show us softness, resilience, mischief and care without using a single word. The name “Signature Whistle” is inspired by dolphins and their unique individual calls, like a handwritten signature in sound.

For us, that stands for the unique “voice” of every animal.
The cards and products are a way of letting that voice be seen and felt on paper, in the garden and in small daily rituals.

Giving back: cards with a concrete good cause

With every purchase we want something to move outside the webshop as well.

• For single greeting cards, a fixed amount per card is donated to small street-animal shelters in North Macedonia.

• For card sets, a set donation is made per pack.

These shelters work with very limited resources to feed, treat and protect street dogs and cats. On our Dutch page Zo helpen we we share more about the organisations, how the donations work and the stories behind them.

Lumabell™: brighter cat, safer birds

Many people want their cat to enjoy the garden or neighbourhood, but also care about local birdlife. Lumabell was created from that tension.

Lumabell is:

• a visible collar cover that adds bright, contrasting colour around your cat’s neck,

• designed to be used together with a breakaway safety collar,

• hand-made in the Netherlands from GOTS-certified organic cotton.

The aim is simple: give birds a fairer chance to see the cat and fly away in time, while keeping things as soft and normal as possible for the cat. On our page Zichtbare kattenkraag die vogels beschermt you can read more about how it works in practice.

Most of the site is in Dutch, but even if you don’t speak the language, you can still explore the animals, colours and stories. And if you are unsure about anything, you can always reach out. We’re small enough that a real person will read your message.
